Long rides

In some markets, Uber now offers a feature that notifies drivers of long rides (more than an hour), but if you arrive at a rider’s location, start the trip, and see that the rider’s destination is an hour away, what would you do? The first thing to understand is that you never have to do a ride21 and you can always end the trip at any point. Let’s say you get a one-hour ride request that’s going to put you in a location that’s in the middle of nowhere and you’ll have to drive back empty to the city. A lot of drivers will take this ride but you always have the option of telling the rider, in the nicest way possible, why you can’t do that ride.

This obviously isn’t the best experience for all parties involved, and you will likely receive a low rating from the passenger, but if you’re a highly rated driver, the low rating shouldn’t affect you much and you might easily save yourself a lot of time and money. Another time you may want to consider this strategy is if you’re on a Quest bonus and the ride will take you outside of the bonus zone.
